New Moon, new age in Aquarius

After an introspective close to 2022, we are finally building some forward momentum.  The recent retrograde energies have given us a chance to review the stories that draw and channel our energy, and define our world (and our karma).

The old Moon in Capricorn, sinking towards its union with the Sun at the Aquarius New Moon this Saturday. Aquarius, the water-bearer, pours forth the waters of wisdom and life to humanity. This New Moon is the last for 25 years with its ruler, Saturn in its seat of power.

Understanding the cosmic forces helps us align and co-create with them. I am excited to offer this first workshop on the energies of 2023 this Saturday.  I would love to have you join me as I explore what astrology can tell us about this Time of Transition.

By 2027, we will be living in a very different reality, shaped by a very different worldview. Sound dramatic? While that may, in part, be my Leo Moon talking, it’s also true that the six year period between 2020 (remember that year?) and 2026 sees every outer planet shift signs, and so do the questions and issues we face collectively.

My biggest question – and mission – is whether and how we can move into the future with greater honor and respect for our humanness and nature as Nature, when so many forces look to technology to ‘conquer’ both.

It’s difficult to capture the extent of the shifts we are in because it means unraveling so many assumptions we don’t even know we hold. I wonder if we are on the brink of a new world view as radical as that of the time of Copernicus, when we began to recognize that the Earth moves around the Sun, rather than the other way around.

In the latest posting from one of my all-time favorite writers and philosophers, Charles Eisenstein shares his thoughts on the paradigm shifts between the old story and a potential new one. Here are a few of them:

“Old Story: I am a separate self: a bubble of psychology, a soul encased in flesh, or a biochemical machine.

New Story: I am a holographic mirror of all that is, a nexus point in an infinite web of relationship.

Old Story: I exist independently.

New Story: I exist relationally.

Old Story: The driving force of human behavior, especially economic behavior, is to maximize rational self-interest.

New Story: Human beings yearn to express their gifts towards something meaningful. We each have a unique and necessary gift for the world.”

And my personal favorites:

“Old StoryThe soul (if it exists at all) is separate from the body, which is basically a flesh robot.

New StoryThe body is the soul made flesh.

Old StoryNature is separate from ourselves. It is the “environment” containing resources for us to use.

New StoryNature is part of us and we are part of nature.

He lists many more, and I highly recommend reading the rest.

During this time when everything seems to be up for transformation, our best support is to live in alignment with our own purpose, our Soul, and the Soul of the world. Over the next couple of weeks, I will be sharing my own story of coming into alignment, and how working with Saturn has been the key. Sign up for my Saturn list to read all about it!
