Friday’s Eclipse and today’s writing prompts

Our first Writing Studio session of June was today, with the subject matter focused on Friday’s Full Moon and Eclipse in Sagittarius, and current events. The Full Moon brings to light what has been percolating under the surface, and an Eclipse is an intensification of the Full Moon’s energy.

I shared this quote from Zodiac Poetry to summarize some of the meaning of Friday’s Eclipse:
“This eclipse is likely to bring to the forefront all the ways in which our beliefs, assumptions and prejudices whitewash, flatten and erase the complexity of the world we exist in.”

Our prompts for the short writing session were these:

• List some old beliefs you were taught you have since learned were not true/true to you (your character);
• What does ‘careful attention’ look like?

Our longer writing period began with these prompts:

• “Afterwards, she/he looked at him/her with renewed curiosity.”
• Write of a time of changing your/your character’s mind about someone, something….
