The Moon is new in the sign of Libra on Friday afternoon, meaning we are closing out the lunar cycle begun nearly a month ago. This New Moon will highlight the themes of deconstruction and restriction we have been living in 2020. At 23 degrees of Libra, the New Moon activates the Saturn-Pluto conjunction of January that touched everything off. Retrograde Mars in Aries completes a cardinal ‘T-square’, amplifying the tension and perhaps making us want to DO something.

Then there are Venus (Goddess of Love) – who ‘rules’ the sign of Libra and therefore the New Moon – and Neptune (the Mystic and sometime martyr) in part of a grand cross with the axis of karma and destiny. Meaning, we can choose to look for beauty in our daily life as well as in our imagination and spiritual life. And, it is time to let go of rigid ideologies and allow different perspectives on reality.
Our prompts for the short writing session were these:
- List as many ‘re-‘ words as you can (e.g. re-examine, review, redo, rewrite, etc.)
Our longer writing period began with these prompts:
- Pick one of your ‘re-‘ words and write about what you are reviewing/revising/redoing, etc.; or
- Let the photo and quotes from poet Rabindranath Tagore inspire you.
