Understanding Virgo through an ancient poem

It seems I have a lot to say about Virgo! Tuesday’s first quarter Moon in  Sagittarius wants us to expand and explore, while the Sun in Virgo wants  us to be here now, with our feet on the Earth. We talked about the many  meanings of Virgo, (currently) the only female figure in the Zodiac.  Goddess of the harvest, priestess (and priest), and virgin, Virgo  signifies discernment, sovereignty and the practice of creating ritual  to make the mundane sacred.

One of the quotes from another astrological writer I particularly like  to describe Mercury-ruled (and exalted) Virgo is “intellectual  expression yearning to take form”. And, the same writer referred to the  ancient verse titled “Thunder, Perfect Mind”, discovered in a jar in a  cave in Egypt in 1945 along with the so-called Gnostic Gospels.
Here is a link to the full text of “Thunder,  Perfect Mind”, and a little background:

The image above shows a small portion of the text; I highly recommend  reading the whole thing. We will explore it further throughout Virgo  season!

Our prompts for the short writing session were these:

  • What is a favorite ritual of yours?
  • What does discernment mean to you? or
  • How are you feeling the tension of the Mars/Saturn square?

Our longer writing period began with these prompts:

  • What knowledge in you is yearning to take form?; or
  • Take a line from “Thunder, the Perfect Mind” and use that to launch your writing.

By the way – if you are following along here on Patreon, these posts will begin showing up on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning next month. Our Writing Studio sessions will shift to Wednesdays at 3:30 Mountain on September 9th. We still have a room for a few creators!
