In our continued exploration of the planet Pluto’s meaning, we looked at two Hindu mythological figures, Kali and Shiva. Both are associated with death and destruction, with Shiva known as ‘the destroyer’. But destruction is part of the cycle of birth, life and death, and is part of the balance of light and dark; summer and winter; birth and death, all of which make up life.
Yesterday and today until 8:27 pm Mountain time we are in the balsamic phase of the Moon, the dark period prior to the initiation of Sun and Moon meeting in a new cycle. The balsamic period is a time to rest and review the previous cycle, checking in on any intentions we may have set at the Aries New Moon on March 24th. Tonight’s New Moon is in the sign of Taurus, the first earth sign of the zodiac. At the heart of spring, Taurus relates to fertility, growth, the Earth itself, our bodies and five senses.
Our first prompts were these:
- List a few blessings of embodiment, of being a human being on the Earth
- Close your eyes, withdraw attention from your senses and explore what happens to the world
Our longer writing period began with these prompts:
- Answer this question: what does the flower, tree, rock, world want from you/your character?
- Write about what brings you back to life, or use this sentence: “Once again, my desire for life grew strong”.
