Kristine Backes 0:00 Someone once asked me what astrology had to do with nature. And in our day and age, when so many of us live in places where we can't see the sky, we can't see the stars, we can barely see the moon because of what's around us the light pollution. I suppose that's a really an understandable question. But if you think about it for not very long, what you realize is that the natural world encompasses everything that actually encompasses us as much as anything as well, which is something you'll hear from me over and over and over our bodies are nature, we are part of nature, we are integral with nature. And when we honor that, then we're healthier, happier, more abundant. But in terms of astrology, specifically, nature, think about being one of those people, which you may have been who knows, right? A couple of 1000 years ago, or even a few 100 years ago, before we had electric lights, before we had so much of this separation and sense of separation from nature, we would have been watching the planets and the stars move over the course of the year over the course of the month, if it's the moon. And we would have been tracking those movements either, you know, closely, or at least to some degree. And, of course, astrology is born out of people tracking and observing the movements in the sky, and then seeing the correlations to the movements among human beings and within human beings. So our reflection of nature in the body is not just the food we eat that comes from the earth. It's also in the patterns of our lives and the patterns of our society that are reflected in the patterns of the planetary movements, and the movements of the constellations. And those cycles can be as short as a day, which of course reflects our Earth's revolution around its axis. It can be 29 years, which is the time it takes for Saturn to go all the way around the sun and return to the same place. It can be the moon's 28 day cycle, which as women we can be very familiar with, because our bodies, even if we're not synced with the moon, our bodies are generally operating on a moon cycle. So, there, every one of the cycles out there reflects a cycle in here, and a cycle with the community, and with our society. So living naturally means living in sync with those cycles and understanding how we can work with them. And that's where astrology and radical wellbeing meet. Transcribed by https://otter.ai
